The Southern Sex takes a close look at the reality behind the stereotypes and myths of the Southern belle and coal miner’s daughter as twelve women share their intimate thoughts on love, marriage, and the pursuit of happiness.  In remarkably candid and personal interviews, these women discuss inherited myths of beauty and marriage, as well as how they’ve found, or expect to find, fulfillment.

The women interviewed range from single mothers to writers and artists to the first female horseracing commissioner.  One woman runs a unique workshop in which women read their poetry while cooking and cleaning.  Shot by veteran cinematographer, Sandra Chandler, and edited by Academy Award winning Editor, Kate Amend, The Southern Sex is a luscious and fun visual feast, from start to finish.
