We are Dos Vatos Productions, Mexican-American filmmakers creating independent films of the highest artistic merit. We also enjoy doing freelance work as an experienced Director of Photography and Sound Recordist. We specialize in motivated and compelling images for documentary and EPK and have 16 Years of experience and credits with PBS, A&E, the History Channel, FOX Sports, and ABC. Our areas of expertise include excellent and substantive interviews, solid hand held, and verité.We are based in the beautiful Sonoran desert, in Tucson, Arizona. We have SD and HD camera packages available, are travel ready, and speak Spanish. Importantly, we have an excellent on-the-set and in-the-field demeanor.The mission of Dos Vatos Productions is to “give voice” to communities that are all too often subject to stereotyping by mainstream media. We do significant community outreach and regularly present our work at film festivals and academic conferences.We strive to make documentaries that, are sensitive to the subjects, allow them to speak in their own voice, and, through long-term relationships, develop empathetic understandings of their lives. We spend a great deal of time with our subjects, to understand who they are and what their dreams are. By squarely having our art focus on issues of gender, class, national origin, and culture, our work offers opportunities for powerful dialog within images that inform, enlighten, inspire, and entertain.
